One of the oldest problems in any bedroom, living room or dining room is how to hide those unsightly electric cords that power our lights. Fortunately, there are some ways you can spruce these up so that they blend with your decor and are far less obtrusive.
- Pillow piping is one of the easiest and most decorative choices homeowners choose. All you have to do is remove the cotton inside and thread your cord through it (this is a diy version of lamp cord covers you can buy in stores).
- Metal tubing is attractive, but requires you to affix a piece of either stainless steel or copper to the wall, which then becomes a permanent fixture.
- Weaving decorative rope around the wire, you can hide the wire while incorporating it into the room’s overall decorative scheme. As an added bonus, you can choose rope colors that either match or offset the paint schemes you already have within the room.
Remember to never cover transformers or components that generate heat.
